Burnt Scrambled Eggs: My Life After a Stroke

Seven years ago today, I had a stroke that changed my life forever.

I don't look at the world the same way; I don't feel the same, and in my eyes, I look a little different somehow.

Almost dying changes you.

Sitting here in the room where it happened that morning, looking at the same monitor, typing this post, I'm reminded of how much we take for granted. And how fragile life is. For the 33 months immediately following my stroke, I was a full-time caregiver to my Dad, ran a business and kept moving forward. To this day, that's how I live.

Another chapter is coming, one that is very uncertain, and I won't share any of it until I know for sure what's happening.

But if you're reading this, thank you. I hope you'll stay tuned.

Because I've never run from a challenge before, and I won't start now.
